Founded in 1950 as the International Commission for Bee Botany (ICBB), the International Commission on Plant Pollinator Relations (ICPPR) promotes and coordinates scientific research on the relationships between plants and pollinators of all kinds.
Areas of research
The ICPPR supports research across a broad range of topics, including:
- Insect-pollinated plants and their interactions with pollinators
- Pollinator foraging behaviour and the effects of pollinator visits on plants
- Management and protection of insect pollinators
- Bee-collected materials, such as nectar and pollen
- Plant-derived products modified by bees
Scientific exchange and collaboration
The ICPPR organises meetings, colloquia and symposia on topics related to plant–pollinator relationships. It also publishes and distributes the proceedings of these scientific events to promote the exchange of knowledge and research findings.
The Commission works closely with national and international institutions to advance scientific collaboration in its field.

The ICPPR is a scientific commission within the International Union of Biological Sciences (IUBS), contributing to the advancement and coordination of biological research at an international level.
