Inhalt: Organisation and Governance of the ICPPR

Organisation and Governance

The ICPPR is one of the scientific commissions of the International Union for Biological Sciences (IUBS), which is associated with the International Council of the Scientific Unions (ICSU).

General Assembly

The General Assembly consists of all members of the Commission.

Council

The Council plays a central role in coordinating the Commission's activities. It comprises the leaders of the Working Groups and three Executive Officers:

  • Chair
  • Vice-Chair
  • Secretary-Treasurer

In addition, the Council includes twelve ordinary councillors who actively contribute to the development of the ICPPR. Their responsibilities include recruiting new members, representing the Commission in other scientific bodies, and proposing changes or improvements to its operations.

Ordinary councillors are expected to be active in a relevant field of bee research and may be consulted by the Executive Officers.

Communication and Reporting

The Secretary, in agreement with the Chair, informs all Commission members about the activities of the Working Groups through an annual circular.

The Secretary is also responsible for reporting the ICPPR's activities to the IUBS and maintaining a membership directory. This directory is updated based on an annual questionnaire through which members confirm their membership and provide their relevant references.
